This gallery shows an NWA 6393 Howardite meteorite thin section viewed in cross polarized light. I often use retardation filters to drawout more color and control contrast. The Met Society write up on this material can be found at this link. I have to say, Howardites arevery interesting on a microscope!
I start with a zoom series from the whole thin section to 760X.
This set is taken in a magnification of 160X.
Next is a rather low magnification (for what I normally work at): 65X.
