This meteorite was purchased in Morocco in 2010. With a mass of only 238 gr., there is not much to go around.
For starters, I found this very photogenic barred chondrule. I took a zoom in set of images ranging from the whole thin section to 760X.I am always surprised at how much detail can be found in a small speck.
This set is taken in a magnification of 65X.
And finally, 760X
Here is a shot of the whole thin section viewed in simple full cross polarized light. Aside from the many chondrules, it’s not veryspectacular.
The same barred chondrule shown in a magnification of 160X. With this set I have used both a ¼ and full wave retardation filter (oneat a time) and rotated the filters/polarizers as well as the sample (in multiple random combinations of rotation) in an attempt to drawout as many color phases as I can.
